"Time sure flies. I have been retired now for a little over eight years and live in Ft Myers, Florida. Jan and I first purchased a town house in a community located on a canal with our own boat dock and access to the Gulf of Mexico. We eventually purchased a small boat and enjoyed frequent lunch trips to the islands and beaches in the gulf but, after three years we said it was time to sell the boat. As the saying goes " the two happiest days are the day you purchase and sell the boat". Not only did we sell the boat but we subsequently sold the town house and purchased a new single family home in Ft Myers. As Jan said, we need more space --- "Let the decorating begin".
During the pasr year we celebrated our 45th wedding anniversary and I (we) attended my 50th HS reunion from Melrose.
Our three daughters and families are doing great. The seven grandchildren range in age from 21 down to 5 year old twins. We visit the two daughters who live in Merrimack, NH and Canton in July and again in November for Thanksgiving. Our other daughter lives in Clearwater, FL so we see her often. The girls do get down to visit when they can with their busy families.
For the elderly Bay Staters, during the past few years we have had lunch with Bob Shupe and, would you believe Jim Smith. Bob and Jim own a condo on Captiva Island and come down for a stay once in a while.
Needless to say, we very much enjoy Florida living. Any time a member of the BSG Alumni is in the vicinity of Ft Myers please drop in for a visit.
